CORONAVIRUS - IMPORTANT INFORMATION

*Prevention of Covid infection at St Agnes Surgery*

St Agnes surgery has a duty to protect You, other Patients and our Staff against Covid infection.
Please consider the following:

1)Keep time spent in our waiting room to a minimum.

2)Wait outside or in your car if you are early for an appointment.

3)To decrease the number of people waiting in our Practice,  family members / friends should wait outside or in their car unless their attendance is essential.

4)Consider a Telehealth appointment as an alternative  to a face to face appointment, if appropriate.

Guideline for Face to Face Consultations
From the 1st June guidelines for patients attending face to face appointments will change
COVID Positive patients will only be able to consult a Doctor via Telehealth only while in quarantine.  Please advise the receptionist when you call to make your appointment.

  • Patients with flu like symptoms such as cough, runny nose, sore throat, temperature and headaches are asked to advise the receptionist when making an appointment so that we can provide an appropriate appointment with the Doctor face to face in the surgery.   Please advise the receptionist if you have had a negative RAT or PCR test result.  All patients with symptoms should test unless you have had COVID in the previous 28 days.

  • Close Contact patients are asked to undertake 1 rapid antigen tests (RAT) over the 7 days after your exposure date, with at least 24 hours between tests and one test on day 7.  You will be able to attend the surgery for a face to face consultation if you have a negative test result prior to attending, please inform the receptionist if you have symptoms.

  • Masks are strongly recommended however with decreasing weekly Covid cases mask wearing is no longer being mandated at out Surgery.  (*Individual Doctors may still request that you wear a mask). Please wear a mask if you have  flu like symptoms.  If you wish to wait in your car please call the surgery on your arrival and let the receptionist know.
Telehealth*
  • Patients may request a telehealth appointment for single appointments only with your Doctor.

  • Medicare ruling applies that you MUST have been seen face to face in the surgery at least once in the previous 12 months.  If you have not been seen in the last 12 months you will be required to pay a standard consultation fee which is not claimable from Medicare.

  • As of the 1st July 2022 all patients will be charged a standard consultation fee for all telehealth appointments.  This will need to be paid on the day via credit card and we will submit your claim to Medicare for reimbursement.
