Dr Emily Harty graduated medical school at Flinders University in 2014 and gained fellowship with RACGP in 2021. Prior to her medical career, Dr Harty was a radiographer and sonographer.
Dr Harty is interested in all aspects of health, disease and prevention across the lifespan. She endeavours to practise medicine in a culturally safe and inclusive manner. Dr Harty has completed the FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health; is competent in Implanon, hormonal and non-hormonal intrauterine device insertions; as well as providing care for people of all gender and sexual identities. Dr Harty can counsel regarding pregnancy options and offer management. She offers shared pregnancy care and has a bedside ultrasound to view baby. Dr Harty is a member of the Australasian Menopause Society and can support women manage their health through various life stages, additional skills include pessary fitting for uterine prolapse. Dr Harty is competent in minor procedures such as toenail wedge resections, basic skin cancer excisions and iron infusions. She has completed additional study in dermoscopy to diagnose skin cancers. When not at St Agnes Surgery, Dr Harty is working for the SA Virtual Care Service supporting our hospitals and emergency services. Outside of work, she is a busy mum to 2 small children, enjoys playgrounds, coffee, reading and running. She/her M.D. F.R.A.C.G.P.
