We are a Privately billing practice - all appointments require payment at the time of consultation.
DVA patients and children under 5 years of age will still be seen with no out of pocket expense.
Some Chronic disease appointments and immunisation clinics may also be conducted with no out of pocket expense.

do you take new patients?
We welcome new patients to our practice. At times of high demand for appointments, a 2-week waiting period may apply to new patients.

can i book a phone consultation?
It depends on the purpose of the consultation.
Our policy allows a phone consultation for the following purposes:
Anything else will require the patient to come into the surgery to see a Doctor.

Do i need an appointment for a repeat prescriptiON?
Yes.
If you see your Doctor regularly and have seen them face to face within the last 6 months, a repeat prescription may be issued during a telephone consultation (excluding blood pressure & pain medication).
A consultation fee will be charged for your Telephone Consultation and will need to be booked by ringing the surgery. Telephone Consultations cannot be booked online.
Otherwise, the patient will need to come into the surgery to see a Doctor face to face.

can i just pay the gap for my consultation?
No.
All patients must pay the FULL consultation fee on the day and if eligible, our team will send the invoice to Medicare for the rebate.
Patients that are able to bring in their physical Debit card will be able to obtain their rebate immediately using our new Tyro system.

what is a registrar?
A Registrar is a Doctor who is studying for a specialist qualification in General Practice. This is a 3-year training program resulting in a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of GPs.
Registrars are supervised by Senior Doctors at the practice who support their training.

can i just see a nurse? do i have to book in to see a doctor as well?
All appointments must be made with a Doctor as well as a Nurse.

DO i have to see the nurse when i get my driving medical done?
A Driving Medical is an opportunity for your Doctor to complete a comprehensive health check. The Nurse will record some routine physical assessments prior to seeing the Doctor.
This process helps us maintain comprehensive medical records and provide some opportunistic screening.

how long is a standard appointment?
A standard appointment will be between 10 and 15 minutes.

Yes.
We are only open at Tea Tree Medical Centre on weekends as below:
Saturday 8:00am - 12:00pm
Sunday 9:00am - 1:00pm
