The educational approach to Diabetes is to improve knowledge and information for the best self-care skills, including awareness of when to seek extra support from the Diabetes Health team. The topics covered are around life with diabetes from newly diagnosed to commencing glucose monitoring, healthy living, appropriate food choices and the benefits of daily exercise to commencing various injectable medications and the ups and downs of glucose and how to manage it.
Viju Vyas is a Credentialled Diabetes Educator with a strong clinical foundation in nursing and specialised expertise in diabetes management. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from Flinders University in 2017 and further advanced her qualifications by completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes Management and Education in 2020. This additional training has enabled her to broaden her clinical knowledge and deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care to individuals living with diabetes.
With over six years of experience across allied health settings and the broader community, Viju is committed to improving health outcomes through patient-centred education and support.
Viju offers tailored education and support for individuals with pre-diabetes, Type 1 diabetes, and Type 2 diabetes. She also provides the convenience of home visits where required. In addition, eligible clients can access a complimentary trial of Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) using the Libre2 system, supporting more effective and informed diabetes management.
Her approach combines clinical expertise with compassionate care, empowering individuals to confidently manage their condition and achieve better health outcomes.
